  • Overview

    J & J Powder Coating, a Division of SJS Industrial Services, is searching for an experienced maintenance technician. The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to perform a variety of duties including the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment to support safe, efficient and lean manufacturing operations of the company's goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
    • Perform required Preventative Maintenance tasks such as: data logging, calibrations, inspections, fluid testing & changes, replacement of wear parts, equipment rebuilds etc.
    • Knowledgeable and capable of completing projects and repair work in plumbing and pipe fitting, conveyors, powder systems, electrostatics, ovens, boilers, welding, fabrication (including part racks), etc.
    • Responsible for all equipment installation and maintenance.
    • Assist in the cleanliness, labeling and upkeep in the mechanical storeroom to provide high spare parts availability and accurate inventory counts.
    • Ability to do electrical and plumbing maintenance
    • Maintain equipment and assist in development of operating procedures that comply with OSHA, EPA, and State and local agencies to insure worker safety and limit company liabilities
    • When machinery or equipment breaks down, must be willing to work longer hours if necessary, to ensure machinery or equipment is back on line to meet production and safety requirements
    • Supports setup of new equipment and optimization of current processes as needed

     

    Qualifications

    • 2 years of experience in general maintenance including facility maintenance, equipment maintenance, electrical and HVAC maintenance.
    • Ability to weld and use electrical equipment
    • Component or millwork equipment maintenance knowledge a plus
    • Capable of using mechanical equipment and other tools to solve problems
    • Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
    • Forklift Operator Certification preferred
