    SJS Executives is seeking Plumbers with Journeyman level skill and experience.


    Location - Bethesda


    This assignment may require a Secret Clearance.  Preferred candidates will either have an active Secret Clearance, or can readily obtain one.




    • Primarily responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment within facility infrastructure such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, showers, fixtures, fittings, appliances and specialized equipment. Work does not include pipefitter work to be conducted on the installation’s main distribution systems. 
    • Contractor works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment. 
    • Installs, modifies, and repairs systems like those described above by locating and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed for proper operation of systems. Also installs equipment like that described above by completing the routing and placement of systems leading to the equipment, and seating, hooking up, and testing the equipment. 
    • Applies knowledge of the operations of various systems and equipment, and of how they are placed, slanted, and sloped and is responsible for the layout, and completion of installations, modifications, and repairs with little or no advice. Work to be assigned via work orders, building plans, and blueprints. Contractor shall plan and lay out routing, placement, slant, slope, and fall of systems. 
    • Contractor shall determine parts (i.e. pipe, reduction couplings, elbows, traps, and valves), type and size. 
    • Contractor shall test and make needed adjustments to systems and equipment, after completing the work, for proper operation, flow, drainage, and sanitary conditions. Work shall meet accepted trade standards.

    All information for work orders, assets, specifications, and condition assessments is captured in the NAVFAC’s MAXIMO - therefore, candidates must be able to learn and utilize this software platform.


    Emergency/On-Call: may be required to respond to job related emergencies, within 1 hour of notification.


    • Three years experience at the Journeyman Plumber performance level
    • Three years experience in service and repair of industrial/commercial plumbing systems
    • Active Driver's License

    Physical Effort:
    The work involves making repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the parts of systems worked on may be in hard-to-reach places. This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weigh up 40 pounds.


    Working Conditions:
    The work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Contractor may be required to make repairs and installations outside in bad weather. May occasionally make repairs in areas where bad smelling fumes are present. May occasional be exposed to the possibility of broken bones and/or scrapes, burns, and infections.
