    An established Prime Federal Contractor is seeking skilled trades talent for ongoing support of its Client, NAVFAC MIDLANT, at various locations.  The following position is one of many assignments for this Client.





    Join Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek VA Beach, VA


    As a Pipefitter, the duties will include, but are not limited to:


    Physical Effort:

    • Physical Effort: Moderate lifting up to 40 pounds is required. If a heavier lift is required, it must not be attempted without assistance. Must be able to work at a rapid pace for a short period of time.
    • Occasionally required to perform work by stooping, bending and reaching while in cramped and uncomfortable positions and by walking, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds to perform work at various heights. Normal vision is required.

    Working Conditions:

    • Some work is performed outside and may require exposure to prevailing weather conditions.
    • Working conditions in this position vary with a portion performed in relatively pleasant surroundings and a portion performed on rooftops, in equipment rooms, under buildings and in confined spaces.
    • Subject to perform work in areas with high noise levels where ear protection is required.  
    • Working in very hot and cold environments, poorly ventilated and lighted areas is occasionally required and in some instances, work in these conditions is for the duration of the shift.
    • The incumbent may be exposed to fumes, dust, dirt, grease and oil, and is subject to the possibility of scrapes, cuts, bruises, contusions, burns, electric shock and eye hazards.



    • Performs the full range of journeyman level plumbing tasks including the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems, such as, sewage, water, and gas distribution systems, and fixtures and equipment such as tubs, toilets, water heaters, and showers
    • When performing service work, estimates labor and material requirements to determine job scope.
    • Works from building plans, blueprints, work orders, and sketches, plans and lays out routing, placement, slant, slope, fall and proper operation of new and existing systems and equipment.
    • Installs, modifies, and repairs systems by locating and tapping mainlines, cutting route opening, placing hangers, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed.
    • Locates leaks or obstructions and repairs or clears them.
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of plumbing methods and techniques to perform work in the installation, modification or repair of various supply, disposal, and utility systems and equipment.
    • Skill necessary to plan and lay out routing, openings, slant, and level of water and gas lines, location and arrangement of equipment.
    • Knowledge to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints.
    • Ability to use trade mathematics in order to lay out arcs, circles, and tangents.
    • Skilled in the use of plumbing tools and equipment, such as plumb bobs, mercury gauges, dividers, augers, and hydrostatic pumps.





    Mandatory Requirements/Qualifications:


    • This position requires a valid state driver’s license.
    • Must be able to wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to meet the requirements of the duties being performed.
