SJS Executives, an established Prime Federal Contractor, is seeking talented tradespeople to support the US Navy’s facilities command (NAVFAC), including support of all USMC facilities.
The Electrician is a service and maintenance role, assigned to the maintenance staff of the base.

The Electrician must be skilled in both old and new work, having a journeyman level knowledge of commercial, industrial and residential electrical construction and how a variety of electrical systems, circuits, controls and equipment are installed, operate and function. Typical work includes a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential new construction, service and repair. Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, loads and tests new and existing electrical systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment, including secondary distribution lines.

General Workplace Requirements:
The Employee may be assigned to perform tasks in non-trade related fields as an assistant/helper as workload requires.
The Employee may be required to serve as an on-call duty personnel on a rotating-shift basis. On-call duty personnel are required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
The Employee may be designated as ALPHA personnel and required to report for duty or held in a duty status to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations, such as, but not limited to, destructive weather, disasters, or periods of increased security threat.
The Employee must be able to receive work assignments in the form of written or oral work orders and instructions. Responsible for selecting the proper materials, tools and techniques to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with applicable standards. Responsible for informing the government leader if planned work deviates from normal trade practice. Works with minimal supervision. Work may be spot check or inspected at completion.
A trainee may be assigned to the Employee of this position for the dual purpose of providing assistance to the Employee and provide a training opportunity for the worker or trainee. If a worker or trainee is assigned the Employee is responsible for providing appropriate instruction, guidance, and oversight and demonstrating safe working practices and a good work ethic by example.
The Employee may be assigned a vehicle, locker, or storage area stocked with controlled inventory and consumable materials. If assigned one of these, the Employee is responsible for managing the material by following established procedures for inventory control and cost accounting.
The Employee may be designed to receive work assignments from Regional Dispatch. If designed as a dispatch worker, the Employee is responsible for following established work dispatch procedures and processes.
Physical effort: moderate lifting up to 40 pound is required. If a heavier life is required, it must not be attempted without assistance. Must be able to work at a rapid pace for a short period of time. Occasionally required to perform work by stooping, bending, and reaching while in cramped and uncomfortable positions and by walking, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds to perform work at various heights. Normal vision is required.
Working Conditions: some work is performed outside, which may require exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Working conditions in this job vary, with a portion performed in relatively pleasing surroundings and a portion performed on rooftops, in equipment rooms, under building and in confined spaces. Employee will occasionally be required to performing work in areas with high noise level where ear protection is required, in very hot and cold environments, in poorly ventilated and lighted areas; in some instances work in these conditions is for the during of the shift. The Employee may be exposed to fumes, dust, dirt, grease and oil, and is subject to the possibility of scrapes, cuts, bruises, contusions, burns, electric shock and eye hazards.
