  • Overview

    A Global leader in calibration gas mixtures and equipment for a variety of applications, including gas detection and safety, laboratory and analysis, environmental monitoring, process systems monitoring, gas quality monitoring and breath test analysis is currently seeking a temporary Laboratory Technician in Cambridge, MD.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs routine analyses of compressed gas cylinders as assigned using Gas Chromatographs, FTIR, electrochemical cells and other technologies
    • Ensures gas product meets specified tolerances
    • Documents analytical results per laboratory sops
    • Responsible for accurate evaluation and verification of data
    • Informs supervisor/management of nonconforming items or other analytical issues as they occur
    • Complies with all standard operating procedures
    • Complies with corporate and governmental regulations
    • Completes other additional assignments as required

    Qualifications

    • Education and Experience
      • AA degree in Chemistry (preferred) or substantial course work in measurement, calibration, science, etc. or the equivalent in analytical experience. Work experience in an analytical lab may be substituted for degree. 
    • Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise
      • Analytical and problem solving skills
      • Computer skills (including word processing and data base software applications)
      • Knowledgeable in general laboratory practices
    • Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills
    • Physical Requirements
      • Must have a full range of motion and be able to lift at least 40 pounds on a frequent basis
