    An established Prime Federal Contractor is seeking skilled trades talent for ongoing support of its Client, NAVFAC MidLANT, at various locations.  The following position is one of many assignments for this Client.

    Pipefitter

     

    Location: Newport Naval Station

    Responsibilities

    As a Pipefitter, the duties will include, but are not limited to:


    a. Installing and operating high temperature and high pressure piping systems.

     

     

    b. Performing hot and cold pipe bending to meet job specifications.

     

     

    c. Determining the pipe, joint, and valve sizes for the piping system according to specifications.

     

     

    d. Working with pressure gauges, relief valves, and testing equipment for piping systems.

     

     

    e. Testing systems and equipment for proper pressure and operation

     

     

    f. Test piping systems for leaks, malfunctions, or maintenance.

     

     

    g. Perform hot and cold pipe bending to meet job specifications.

     

     

    h. Use trade methods, techniques, and tools to ensure safety and quality work.

     

     

    i. Determine pitch and elevation for piping systems and hangers to operate correctly.

     

     

    j. Interpret blueprints and sketches to plan and layout routing and placement of piping systems.

     

    k. Modify and repair existing installations according to provided specifications or instructions.

     

     

    l. Determine the pipe, joint, and valve sizes for the piping system according to specifications.

     

     

    m. Determine placement of valves from instructions and specifications to meet requirements.

     

    n. Use wrenches, pipe threaders, benders, grinders, saws, and other basic hand power pneumatic tools to complete work assignments.

     

     

    o. Work with pressure gauges, relief valves, and testing equipment for piping systems.

     

     

    p. Use mathematical skills to calculate testing for proper circulation, flow and pressure for leak free joints.

     

     

    q. Perform troubleshooting of piping systems during testing procedures.

     

     

    r. Test systems and equipment for proper pressure and operation.

     

     

    s. Identify materials to support repairs for various types of piping systems.

     

     

    t. Check for proper circulation, flow, and leak-free joints in the piping systems

    Qualifications

    Mandatory Requirements/Qualifications:

     

    Any journeyman level License pipefitters from any state will be considered.
