Overview

SJS Executives, an established Prime Contractor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy’s facilities command (NAVFAC MidLANT) in the execution of it’s broad and diverse mission of facilitating inter-governmental operational requirements. 

 

This assignment is for the Norfolk Naval Base, in Norfolk Virginia.

Responsibilities

Responsible for:


o   The preparation of detailed designs, plans, specifications,

o   Cost estimates for industrial processes,

o   air conditioning,

o   ventilation,

o   plumbing,

o   compressed air,

o   energy saving and conversion systems,

o   pneumatic transport systems,

o   control systems,

o   utility systems,

o   fuel oil systems,

o   natural gas systems,

o   pier mechanical systems,


 

And other systems of major size and complexity of up to MILCON scope for use by Naval Shore Facilities, including:


o   multistory offices

o   and quarters,

o   steam plants,

o   industrial waste treatment plants,

o   ship piers,

o   naval nuclear repair facilities,

o   aircraft overhaul facilities

 


 

And a very wide diversion of other structures and facilities.


Qualifications

Qualifaction:

  • Bachelor Degree in an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical systems design including.
  • At least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a Federal Agency, and 5 years' experience in AutoCAD, SpecsIntact, Word, and Excel software.
