Overview

The  Business Development Manager (Electrical) is responsible to increase market share in the Electrical sector of Company's business, for both existing and new customer base.

 

This will include:

  • Contacting industry decision-makers
  • Delegating project leads
  • Developing product features

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-range business plans for the organization's business area. These plans cover short-term and long term portfolio analysis, identification and development of business opportunities, and strategy alignment.
  • Perform tasks such as sales calls, corporate initiative direction, and training.
  • Establish, track, and delegate project leads.
  • Promote business development initiatives by contacting key decision makers throughout the industry.
  • Maintain statistics of industry successes and market performance.
  • Perform market analysis and develop market plans and projections for potential business segments.
  • Coordinate and perform salesforce training activities.
  • Develop and execute Business Plans and Marketing Plans for revenue, margin, and share growth at distributor accounts.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to successfully execute strategies through the Marketing, Sales and PTC organizations.
  • Communicate activities to executive management in written, verbal, and presentation media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of sales experience in the mechanical power transmission market (Variable Speed Drives - Mechanical & Electrical, Industrial Electric Motors).
  • Considerable experience with Strategy Development, Budget Management, and Project Management.
  • Must be proactive, outgoing, self-motivated and self-directed with a strong record of sales/market planning, client development, and follow through and overcoming barriers to sales.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to adapt to audience and project competence and confidence when speaking to range of audiences and groups.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in strategic selling disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to perform a considerable amount of travel (30-50%).
  • Field service experience is preferred.
  • Membership in multiple industry organizations is preferred.
